Dis’n’Dat

Dis’n’Dat

Stained glass with flowers  Carving on black walnut wood Moose carved on maple wood       Beeswax wraps

I was born and raised in St. John’s, NL where I was exposed to traditional arts and crafts including rug hooking. My original designs range from colourful scenery such as Jellybean Row,” to gardens of poppies and lupine, to exploring themes of geometric figures and objects of ‘Home’. My background in aircraft mechanics and my love of power tools allows me to mill and cure my own wood which I salvage locally. My handmade beeswax wraps started off as gifts to family members to encourage them to stop using plastic wrap. The family in turn passed them on to their friends and family. And so it started with a bit of Dis’n’Dat, a hooked rug for a gift, a cutting board for a party, some beeswax wraps to help save the planet… All sustainable made by an awesome woman who has her own chainsaw
